we_love_english_
Hello. My name is Yulya. I'm an English teacher at Gremyache school Ostrog district Rivne region.
After leaving school in 2003 I entered the Rivne State Humanitarian University, the faculty of Foreign Languages and graduated from it in 2007. Since 2006 I've been working as a teacher of world literature and English. What can I say about myself? I'm a creative person.

I love teaching English and I am passionate about the English language. I am fascinated by the complexity, history and current idiomatic usage of English, and how English has incorporated words and grammar from so many different languages. It is a real pleasure for me to see the development of my pupils’ language skills.
I believe a great teacher is one who creates a classroom environment that makes their pupils
1.) 'curious'
2.) want to 'explore' ('investigate')
3.) allows them to 'discover'.
I think instilling and encouraging these three elements in pupils makes a great teacher.
A great teacher encourages and guides their pupils to 'discover' answers, information, solutions. 'Discovery' makes them happy.
Happy pupils think they have great teachers. And they learn better and retain more when they 'discover' something new, rather than just being 'given' information.
And yes, teachers can teach to make their pupils 'wonder', want to 'explore', and 'discover', and thus be 'great' teachers.
My five suggestions to be a good teacher are:
1. PATIENCE - sometimes the pupil is not receptive or tired or not catching on quickly, hard to be patient, so have to dig deep and find the patience somewhere to get his/her attention back and go more slowly.
2. CREATIVITY - I am not one to follow a schedule strictly. Sometimes, during the lesson, I think of something from the work we are doing and create an exercise to get that point across. I also make my own worksheets with the help of the Internet and my own creative ideas. I find it easier if I can use my brain to make different worksheets and the pupils pick up on your initiative.
3. GET SOME REST BEFORE A LESSON - I find if I am tired at the start of a lesson, it becomes a very difficult time and I lose patience and just want it to end! It is difficult to dig deep especially in one -one -one sessions if you are tired. I have to concentrate so much harder and put in so much more effort if I am feeling tired and lazy. Sometimes I don't feel like going to a lesson, but I drink some cold water and once I am there, I am fine.
4. KEEP THE LESSON INTERESTING AND TRY TO USE THE PUPIL'S HOBBIES ETC. IN THE LESSON - I find if I can relate the lesson to something the pupil understands and is excited about, he/she is more receptive and stays focused. The worst thing is when you feel that the pupil is losing interest and getting bored. So keep the lessons exciting, bring in an activity when you see the pupil fading and give homework, e.g. Comprehension relating to something the pupil is doing in his/her life.
5. REWARD AND PRAISE - with younger children, rewarding is important. If they feel that they are getting somewhere and that you are happy with their progress, they will be much more keen on keeping their attention on the lesson. Use starcharts, Snakes and Ladders for points (let them read flashcards and have a turn at the Snakes and Ladders if they get the word right), Scrabble, stickers etc. For adults, just praise when they do a good job of an exercise, even adults like praise! Never get cross when they do something wrong, just point out and guide, but when they do an excellent piece of work, praise and encourage.

Teaching is a job where you can be very creative. It is a rewarding job when a light shines in your pupils's eyes because you have guided them to understand a concept and go beyond it. It is a calling in my opinion. It is not for everyone. If someone is self-motivated and likes to be (for the most part) left alone to do their vocation without too much interference, teaching is a great career. Sometimes it can be frustrating and sometimes it can be stimulating.
You get to try things many different ways in the attempt to perfect your craft. You get to be a kid in a sense because every year you get a summer vacation. You also stay in tune with what young people are interested in, which can also keep you young. Teaching is a two way street- you are a mentor and teacher and you learn something new each day.
Very often you can hear the complaints of teachers’ salaries, working conditions, pupils. At first I nodded my head, agreed with them that pupils are arrogant and wages are miserable.
But over time I realized that we teach pupils ourselves and only on us depends their attitude. When to treat the child with understanding, requires above its capacity, taking into account its interests you have the same. It is important not to lose the respect of the class and not to make some pedagogical error because to fix it later will be very difficult.
«Why am I a teacher ?»
I am often asked about it. Why among thousands of jobs I’ve chosen this one?
Sometimes I ask myself about it and I see a little girl who grew up in a family of teachers, who knew from the childhood what is synopsis, scheduling, parent’s meetings, teachers' meeting.
I’ve asked it during my studying at the University when I needed to read 450 pages during the one night......
«Why am I a teacher?»
School is a small world. Here the life is raging, boiling, turns and you try to make all this more interesting.
Every new school day curious eyes are looking at you, seeking new discoveries, joyful shouts, happy smile...
I live it. Of course, there are difficulties, the frustration, but our job is impossible without them.
Why do I love being a class teacher?
When pupils are looking at you, when they are waiting your decision, when you divide the joy of victories with your children, when you wipe bitter tears of disappointment from children's plump then it seems that for the sake of our kids you can make the impossible and to turn the mountain.
I just love my job! After all, every day I have the greatest reward. It is the love of my children.
As for experience, I do not think that only the senior teacher who is working for years at school is the best. In many cases of course it is. And I respect teachers who devoted their life to school!
I realized and developed my teaching philosophy. This job is specific, because an attitude to learning a second foreign language is sometimes passive. So the first task I have set is to motivate pupils to study a second foreign language.
I try to keep pace with the times, to apply the lessons of multimedia, which fortunately is in our school. I try to choose topics of interest to pupils and to discuss their problems. I work on the problem of improving lesson and try to use innovative technologies. Children happily change activities, work creatively, prepare projects.
Teacher’s fate ... It does not elect uncertain. Our fate is special because it has entrusted to me such precious thing in my life as children. Teachers are those who should teach love, justice, and honor, wise. They lit the flame in children's hearts.
I’m happy working in the native school. Its walls warm me, inspire confidence in my victory.
On my lessons I try to organize different discussions, role-playing games. It helps me to eliminate the fear of speaking a foreign language. My pupils always know that I’ll help them. I am always ready to listen.
I always try to learn something new, to analyze the pedagogical skills of other teachers, learn something for myself and my pupils. Especially an important to me is seminar on innovative changes in teaching, innovation, and various workshops.
My teaching track is good. During 8 years my native noisy school opens the door for me after the summer and leads to a meeting with my pupils.
I love my school - the world of childhood and hope.

Every day I see my little inquisitive eyes of pupils and they inspire me.
